The best time to visit Himachal Pradesh is from March to June and from September to November when the weather is pleasant and suitable for outdoor activities.
Kullu caps are great from The Mall Road, Khara Bazaar is famous for shawls, woolen clothing from Manu Market, beautifully made Dorjes from Old Manali, Thangka paintings and unique Tibetan handicrafts from the Tibetan Monastery are some of the best buys from Manali.
There are various options to enjoy a night out in Manali. Pay a visit at Khyber, a popular bar and restaurant with exceptional food and great crowd, shake a leg at Chelsea Club or The Buzz, relax and enjoy some live music at the Lazy Dog Lounge or Drifter’s Inn, go camping in the Solang Valley if you are looking for adventure, take a stroll on The Mall Road, etc.
Manali has some unique dishes that are really tasty and should not be missed. Some of these are Dham an elaborate meal made up of rice, a variety of vegetables, curries, curd and sweetened rice; Red Rice served with green leafy vegetable curry or kidney beans; spicy and tangy River Trout speciality of the region; Masala Omelette with toasted bread and a wonderful cup of masala chai.
Kullu is beautiful during Spring and Summer and the best time to visit here is between April to June. The Dussehra celebrations in October is also a great crowd puller.
